The Turney and Burbage Roads Summer Picnic on 12th June not only had a great deal of fun but also raised £160 for Link Age Southwark.
This year, to coincide with the Queens 90th birthday celebrations, we changed the format and the timing of our annual summer party to an afternoon picnic with entertainment for the children and music provided by the Rosendale Steel Band.
To celebrate the theme of the Queen’s special birthday we filled 90 red, white and blue envelopes with small donations for Link Age Southwark, our local charity for older people. Children undertook arts and crafts with a royal theme and some even dressed up in red white and blue, crowns and ermine and other royal paraphernalia!
Though the format changed for this year, the objective was the same: meet your neighbours, relax while the children play and make the most of being a resident in these two roads at the heart of Dulwich Village.
